Any guesses? No, this isn't an orange and yellow fuzzy blanket...
It belongs to the furry teddy bear known as the Io Moth. Males are bright yellow while females have rusty brown front wings. The adults may be harmless, and feel like soft velvet clinging to your hand, but the caterpillars have the nasty feature of stinging spines, which leave your hand feeling like it's been burned.
That is very colorful. Thanks for the picture. That's a pretty powerful camera. I'll have to show Brooke since I sparked her interest in butterflies ever since I started calling her Butterfly.
